After using popularity as the criterion, we compiled this list of 10 places you must visit, whether you are a local or a traveler. Get ready to share your most incredible photos on your social media to show your friends and family those unforgettable moments in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!

1. Malecon

Let’s start with the most iconic place in Puerto Vallarta: the Malecón. This iconic symbol, as the New York Times says, “has been a destination for tourists and residents since the 1930s.” Each sculpture has a unique style, and you can find them all along the Malecón. Don’t forget your photo with the famous “Caballito,” a sculpture created 45 years ago, accompanied by the Puerto Vallarta sign, designed and painted by Mexican artist Carlos Terres.

2. Street Art

Walk through the city center and discover impressive murals on the walls, similar to East Village Walls in New York. You can plan your tour with the help of an interactive map. These murals are the work of artists expressing their art and culture throughout the city, creating wonderful views. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #PVStreetArt when sharing your photos.

3. Mirador de la Cruz

If hiking up hills isn’t your favorite activity, take a deep breath and climb to the top of Mirador de la Cruz. The views of the bay from here are unforgettable. This is one of the highest points in the city and undoubtedly one of the most photogenic spots. With a 20 to 40-minute walk from the Malecón along Abasolo Street, you’ll reach this viewpoint.

4.Mirador Faro de Matamoros

From here, you can capture the romantic essence of the Historic Center, as it’s very close to the famous Gringo Gulch with its beautiful residences and tree-lined alleys. The rooftops of the houses give that picturesque air that locals and tourists alike love.

5. Parque de los Azulejos en el Viejo Vallarta

Walking towards Olas Altas from the Malecón, you’ll find Parque Lázaro Cárdenas, also known as Parque de los Azulejos. Decorated with colorful mosaics and mirrors designed by Natasha Moraga, it’s the perfect place for vibrant and artistic photos.

6. Olas Altas Pier

This modern pier, resembling a sailboat, offers spectacular views, especially at sunset. Enjoy the changing colors as the lights illuminate the pier. You can admire it from the beach or from one of the nearby restaurants.

7. Seahorse Sculpture at Playa Los Muertos

At Playa Los Muertos, near Conchas Chinas, you’ll find another seahorse sculpture, creating a magical setting where nature and art meet.

8. Río Cuale Bridge

The bridge connecting downtown Vallarta with the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood offers a colorful and distinctive view that captures the essence of the city.

9. Gringo Gulch Stairs

This pedestrian bridge connects Cuauhtémoc Street with the Cuale River island, offering stunning views of the mountains surrounding the Romantic Zone and the Cuale River. Stop halfway up the stairs to enjoy the view.

10. OXXO with panoramic view

It may seem unusual, but one of the best views of Banderas Bay is at an OXXO store. Buy a coffee, sit down, and enjoy the serene view from this unique window.
